step 4

crafting the deck

In this step, I’ll give you an overview of the Ideation Workshop Deck template that includes facilitator notes and recommendations. I recommend pausing to take a peek at the deck to give you the lay of the land. In the deck, you will find that the first slide provides context for the facilitation notes.

wait?! why is this deck so plain?

Each team, problem, customer, and company is unique and so should the way we solve-problems.

Use the branded deck from your company, create your own, or check out my two favorite places for slides: Figma Community + Slidesgo.

With AI tech changing on a daily basis, there’s likely to be easier and better ways to create a deck, like gamma.app, where I’ve been creating all my presentations these days.

In the deck, you will find the core slides and presenter notes for you to make your workshop unforgettable.

You will also notice emojis throughout the deck. These are reminders for you as the facilitator. I personally use these three reminder emojis the most:

⏸️  - Pause for questions

🗣️  - Group Discussion

⏳  - Time Check

The deck's purpose should be to guide and reference the current activity. The slides should be light on text and instructive, vs. educational or filled with content.

Remember to riff off of this deck and make it your own. You do not have to use the same emojis or deck theme I’ve chosen here. 🤓

Now, let’s discuss how to organize and set up for the workshop.
